TsAGI DEVELOPS PROBATIVE DOCUMENTACION FOR ACOUSTIC CERTIFICATION OF THE Il 96-400T AIRCRAFT WITH INCREASED TAKEOFF WEIGHT
TsAGI Press Service. Specialists of TsAGI’s Moscow Complex are developing the probative documentation for the acoustic certification of the Il-96-400T aircraft with a takeoff weight of up to 270 tons. The work is being performed under contract with JSC AC n. a. S. v. Ilyushin. The Il-96-400T previously had passed acoustic certification trials with a takeoff weight up to 265 tons however, the weight increase results in higher noise levels. Additional research is required to establish that the acceptable ambient noise level will not be exceeded. Research is underway to estimate the weight increase effect on the acoustic properties and to identify the noise levels that will not surpass acceptable reference points at pre-established ground-level points. TsAGI developed similar procedures to calculate the aircraft noise level when slight variances made the mass-inertial and geometric parameters impossible to carry out additional experimental tests. Computation results have been submitted to the Aviation Intergovernmental Committee Aviation Register. The Il-96-400T aircraft cannot operate without the certificate of external noise-level conformity.
